Message from Director General Health Services-NWFP
Ever since the beginning of AIDS epidemic in 1981, more and more people are becoming HIV infected every few seconds and dying of AIDS each minute. It is true that situation is frightening in many parts of the world but we should not panic as Pakistan is fortunate that it is predominately Muslim country and majority of people and particularly those residing in NWFP follow teachings of Islam and at present patients of HIV/AIDs run in only hundreds. But on the other hand this should not lead us in to complacency and menace of HIV/AIDs must be confronted with all our energies. Ever expanding horizons of knowledge and awareness about Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) has shown that by creating awareness and adopting dynamic approach to AIDS prevention and control can yield dramatic results. It is high time that we all should join hands in combating frightening and deadly disease and ensures bright future for our Children |
